SETTING OFF ON AN ADVENTURE

After working in the corporate world and building a successful business creating bathroom accessories, in 2008 we took some time out to travel as a family. We bought a boat, and set off from California with our kids on a “grand adventure”, learning to sail as we went. During what became a four-year trip we sailed across the Pacific, stopping off along the way at some of the most remote places on the planet.

We got to meet people from different cultures, experience completely different ways of life, and partake in experiences and cultures we could never have imagined.

As we traveled, we met people from every walk of life, and one thing we learned was oftentimes, the happiest people weren’t those who had the most money, the most food, or even the best white sand beaches. People seemed to be happiest when they were working together, sharing their experiences and knowledge, and treating each other well. We learned a lot from the simple life of villagers in remote islands where cooperation, friendship, and honesty were the hallmarks of everyday life.

As we traveled, we vowed that in any future endeavors, we would make sure we incorporated those core values. Returning to the USA we wanted to establish a business where our customers are treated the way like we’d like to be treated, but also to honor the environment in our daily lives, and hopefully inspire others along the way.
